ClimeCo International (CCI) offers three advanced BioGas technologies from Europe & Asia in Latin America:

A+AD BioGas Production: 28m3 of BioGas per TFF  |  6 kWh/m3 of BioGas

Anaerobic digestion (AD) is a fermentation process where bacteria consume organic matter (e.g. palm oil mill effluent, animal manure, food waste, etc.) in the absence of oxygen.

In the Anaerobic Digestion process, the digesting bacteria emit a gas mixture as a byproduct. This gas mixture of typically 60% Methane/Natural Gas/CH4 and 35% Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is commonly called BioGas.

The high Methane/Natural Gas content makes BioGas a combustible gas with an energy content of appr. 6 kWh per m3.

CCI's A+ technology is the most efficient form of anaerobic digestion in the palm industry, producing 28m3 of BioGas per ton of fruit.

BioGas-to-Power: 43% electrical efficiency | 8,300 FLH per year | 72 kWhe/TFF

CCI's Advanced+ BioGas production technology permits the use of the most efficient BioGas engines currently available. These BioGas engines achieve an electrical efficiency of 43%, around 1.5x compared to the standard BioGas engines used in LatAm.

With CCI's integrated combination of technologies (A+ BioGas production + BioGas filter + BioGas engines), palm oil mills can produce 72kWhe per TFF on average. A typical palm oil mill (20TFF/h, 100kTFF p.a.) can produce 7,200,000kWhe per year at a power of 1.44MWe.

The consistently high quality of the BioGas generated in CCI's A+ BioGas plants reduces the maintenance of these high-performance engines to the manufacturer required minimum, resulting in a continuous operation of up to 8,300 full load hours (FLH) per year.

Membrane-based BioGas Upgrading: 50% cost reduction per m3

BioGas Upgrading converts BioGas to BioMethane, the renewable form of Natural Gas, through the removal of carbon dioxide (CO2). Compressed to 200 bar, BioMethane becomes BioCNG, a renewable BioFuel.

CCI is the first company to offer the most advanced technology membrane-based BioMethane production in Latin America.

Developed in Europe, our BioGas Upgrading technology removes carbon dioxide through membranes, eliminating the use of chemicals & water applied in previous technologies (such as PSA or chemical/amine washing). The result is BioMethane with 92% to 99% purity.

CCI's membrane-based BioGas Upgrading technology reduces the operating cost per m3 by 50% in BioGas plants with a production of less than 1,000m3 per hour, compared to PSA and amine washing.
